I would say that one thing you can work on is the setting description (don’r add TOO much description, but maybe give a few small details on what the beach/Cleo’s workplace building looks like.) And perhaps not info dump the backstory and info about Cory (you can mention he’s Cleo’s crush and that he liked another girl, but being too detail specific tends to show the reader you’re just info-dumping.)

Aside from that, I’m excited to see where this story is going. I don’t read many books in the contemporary genre, so I think this is a good place to start :)
