Christy was more affected in this and it's understandable how she really resents and hates Paige because of this. She just wanted Paige to back her up and spread the truth but her friend got cold feet and ended up throwing her under the bus, betraying her with silence. A lot of strong emotional feelings portrayed in this and you can feel the heartbreak the character are going through with the scene, such as the confrontation when Christy pointed the gun at the bastard and felt despair when Paige said nothing to support her claims.
One thing, you said Paige was allergic to peanuts, but she had peanut and jelly for lunch. It sounds like a contradiction.
