Yeah, this is happening with my story right now. Iโm getting some pretty reasonable views and some likes, but not a lot of comments.
Books, on the other hand, especially if there's a lot there to read, are a lot harder to get comments on because it actually takes time and effort. Some people wait until they finish the book before they write anything, which is fine, but I still feel very strongly that readers should comment more. Like I said to M in one of the previous comments, us writing comments should be seen as our way of paying the author for being generous enough to post their story for free. It's the comments that draw other readers in, not the view and like count. If people are commenting a lot on a story, other readers will see that as a sign that the story must be interesting enough to garner those comments.
