平埔傳統部落由於小孩都是互相照顧，因此對這些小孩而言，所謂的「母親」是一個「複數名詞」，因為他會把所有照顧他的女性都當成母親，所以你問他「媽媽是誰」，他的答案會有好幾個。
「你的孩子不是你的孩子，而是大家的孩子」。這種觀念也許在某一天又會在臺灣盛行也說不定。
