A lilting laugh permeated the air as Laelai took in the fiery sight. The gold and white markings on his pitch-colored skin glowed and shimmered in an ethereal way, showcasing glee in his current doings.
Eyes of gold on inky black stared down at the jar fastened to their waist before the object was lifted for a closer inspection. The jovial smile that reflected off the bloodstained glass did nothing to deflect the underlying vileness of sharpened teeth; however, when no immediate comment came, the smile dampened slightly.
A rarity indeed.
The voice from the jar was tranquil despite the amount of chaos ensuing. “Laelai.”
“Love.” A sense of giddiness took hold of the fae as it had been met with such quiescence for so long. “What is it?”
It was silent momentarily before the jar’s occupant placed a hand on the glass. "Let me go.”
“Little one… we’ve had this discussion.”
“Laelai, please.”
The smile broadened. “Love, these beings have no lealty to you.”
“Free me.”
“Love, they will not treat y–”
“Please!” The smile faded before the jar was refastened to the fae’s waist. “Laelai– ”
“Are you comfortable?” The question of finality was met with silence. “I’ll take that as a yes, Love. Now, relax and enjoy the show.”
