When he was a teenager, Blaine Conner had a DNA sample taken from him during a routine procedure. Life progressed fairly normally for him in the small town of Glory after that, but when Blaine turned 31, he received the shock of his life when authorities turned up on his doorstep with a two-month-old baby boy. His mother had died recently, and she'd named Blaine as the boy's next of kin.

The boy was his identical genetic twin, Blaze Conner.
