One would never think

That a friendship that sinks

Would feel so abrupt and peaceful

They would say, “why don’t I,

Just go over and cry”

Because they left me to die

At the rink.

I just noticed that once

I was in a friendship that cost me,

My happiness,

One that tied me down.

They take care of me without care

Making me unaware of the things

That they would begin to prepare.

I trusted them still,

And they wouldn’t

“Just chill”

Leaving me where I stand alone.

I knew them since first grade,

They used my weaknesses against me.

I wanted more friends,

But they didn’t like the ones I chose

So they threatened to leave me alone.

I can’t be alone, 

If I am alone I begin to think,

The things I think begin to grow

Until they are almost out of control

My mind is not calm.

I was in 2nd grade

When a new girl came along

She was short

She made me tall

My friend made me choose.

All I could do,

Was stand frozen in time,

Tears rolled down my cheeks. 

They already knew my answer

But they made me speak.

I don’t do well under pressure

I can’t make my mind work

I have to forces words from my lips

Until I have a  crisp robotic lisp, 

Of what I wish I could say.
