Hi guys!
I know it's been a long while since I have actually clocked into here and checked in on everything. But I just wanted to give everyone a mini update on my life if y'all cared.6Please respect copyright.PENANAHIvKa8OQMQ
Well so I am officially 18 :D And I have also graduated high school. I started a factory job for summer work and continued my job in a coffee shop. I went to my college Orientation. Early February I auditioned for the Musical Theater BFA Major and interviewed for the Theater Education Major at my college. Sadly I didn't get into the Musical Theater BFA like I had hoped but I did get into the Theater Education BA so that is my major, I am going to try one more time to get into the BFA after first semester, but if I don't get in I am going to continue on my track to becoming a theater teacher! I am in the Honors College at my college Ball State University!! Chirp Chirp! So because of that my schedule is pretty full for first semester so I am hopefully going to tack on my dance minor after first semester! I hope to be able to direct and choreograph the musicals and plays I am going to hopefully eventually get to put on as a teacher at whatever school I end up working at.
For a bit more context on the school year. This past school year was amazing! It was mostly drama free (basically completely drama free in my friend group) and I had almost all As both semesters! My best friend aka my favorite tall gremlin, who did three sports (Football, Basketball, and Track) last year (my junior year, his freshman year) ended up deciding to change it up and decided to drop basketball and pick up Swimming! So I finally went to a lot of the swim meets and I'm a little upset I never went before because they were a lot of fun! I went to just about every single home football game this year and a couple of the basketball games. Sadly this year I didn't end up doing track again but thankfully my track coach (who was also my physics teacher junior year) is also the strength teacher so I had him in strength every day which was a lot of fun. I started the school year off with a max squat of 175 and a max bench of 105 (by max I mean the most I can bench for only 1 rep). By the end of the year my max bench was 135 (which is the bar and one 45 on each side) and my max squat was 220 (which was the bar with a 45, 35, 5, and a 2.5 on each side). So I was extremely happy with my progression for the ear especially when my goal for squat for the end of the year at the beginning was to be able to squat 200 and I got to surpass that! Oh and on top of all of that I ended up joining Student Council for the year.6Please respect copyright.PENANAiCR0OCyddm
Theater wise. My school got to do three productions for the 2024-2025 season!! In fall we did "Guys and Dolls" the musical where I got to play Adelaide! It was actually so much fun and probably one of my favorites to date. And in the spring we did "Peter and the Starcatcher" I decided to work audio (pit) for this production but wanted to make a mini cameo so I was apart of the mermaid song at the beginning of act 2. And our final show was "The Outsiders" the play where for the first time all of my high school career I played a man, I got to be Two-Bit! Then later on in May we had our little awards banquet, which we call the Oscars. It's basically a senior showcase where all of the seniors get to perform whatever they want, whether it be a monologue, a choreographed dance, or singing a song. 6Please respect copyright.PENANAbGVuVEYGCa
The Oscars opened with a bit of a fashion show for the seniors as we are seated at a table upstage while the rest of the grades sit in the audience. The seniors got to enter and show off their dresses and outfits seeing as this years theme for the Oscars was "Fashion Show." I got to be the last senior to walk for the show because instead of sitting down I then went and I ended up giving the opening speech, and singing two songs, "Your Crowning Glory" from the Princess Diaries 2 (I did this as a duet with one of my best friends who used to be on this Penana often if anyone remembers them (AshyHaze)) and "My Days" from "The Notebook" the musical. There were awards given out to people within the department in-between the performances by the seniors. Then as a grand finally, two of my friend and I made a medley with one song from each musical we have done since freshman year and then entire theater department joined in for it. It began with just the seniors on stage, but as the shows went on the juniors joined in, then the sophomores, and finally the freshman. Then in the final song of the medley everyone but the seniors left and we had our final bow. I don't think I could have asked for a better last moments on my high school stage. The photo of our final bow might just be one of my favorites of all time. I am definitely going to miss it at my high school but I have a little sister who's gonna be a freshman there this upcoming school year so I won't be gone for long. I think that I had an amazing couple of years in high school that I can gladly look back on fondly.6Please respect copyright.PENANAqCaj2xGSrM
I am also very excited for College. I finally got my dorm assignment recently and I think that I everything is finally setting in. I'm finally starting to realize that I'm moving 3 hours away from my family and I won't be able to visit them every day and I won't be able to wrestle with my parents and cuddle with my mom randomly. Its starting to all feel really surreal and I don't know how to feel about it but I think I am going to be ok!6Please respect copyright.PENANApcdLB89g2g
