“Lora get your brother and get down here we need to go to the diner!” Mother yelled from the living room downstairs. “Coming mother!” I yell back as I put my black compact boots on and walk through the curtain door of my room. I walk over to my little brother’s, Mosiah, room and open the door. “Hey let’s get going we’re gonna be late to the party!” I exclaim as I see the brunette 11 year old putting his tennis shoes on. “I’m coming I’m coming! Gosh you sound like mom,” Mosiah replies turning his light off and walking out. I closely follow my little brother as he walks down the stairs. “You look fancy aside from the tennis shoes is that because Phoebe will be there?” I ask teasingly as my brother fixes his denim jacket. “How many do I have to tell you and mom Phoebe is just a friend!” Mosiah yells annoyed as we walk over to the living room.
Me and mother just give him this ‘boy just admit you like her’ look. “Lora put a sweater on please you look like a stripper wearing those shorts and crop top!” Mother exclaims looking at my outfit. I chuckle and grab my flannel to tie around my waist. “Better?” I ask giving a curtsy. Mom nods and grabs Mosiah as we walk to the garage. I grab the supplies on the kitchen table before we all forget about them. “Lora you should take your hair out that braid you look so pretty with your hair down!” Mom says as she pops open the trunk. “Mom can we go now and stop fussing over Lora it’s MY birthday she had hers months ago!” Mosiah says annoyed as he gets into the backseat. I roll my eyes at his behavior and set the decorations in the trunk. “Now now Mosi stop being so annoyed we want you to have the perfect 11th birthday now, don’t we Lora?” Mom replies getting into the driver’s seat. “Yes we do!” I answer closing the trunk and going to the front seat. He just rolls his eyes as I get in the car and mom drives off. I decide to take mom’s advice and undo my braid I see mom smile a bit out the corner of my eye.

As we roll up to the 30’s Diner I start to unbuckle my seatbelt and Mosiah puts his tablet away. Mom parks and we all get out the car and grab the decorations from the trunk. This guy by a red truck catches my eye as I see him push some hair out his face. Oh my GOD HIS FACE IS JUST PERFECT! My brother catches my gaze and starts laughing at me. I smack him on the back of the head and receive a glare in return. We go inside the diner and start to decorate the table we reserved. The same guy from the parking lot was looking over at us… at me! My mom gave me a nod and started walking over to him.
