“Would you shut up!” Aaron commanded Kyle, giving him another slap.
Rafta, Resta, Yord, and all of the other guards in the society were trotting along the grimey tunnels of the sewers towards the camp. There were about ten animals in total, three grouped in the back, two in the middle, and five in the front.
“You can hit me all you want, it's not going to stop me.” Kyle retorted back. “How many more times do I have to tell you that I can’t get harmed. I guess you can just use me as your pinata.”
“I just wanna rip you to shreds.”
“Well you already did plenty of that to my shirt.”
“Cover his mouth again will you?” Rafta shouted back at them. They were all the way in the back. Yord and Aaron were carrying the net he was wrapped up in.
“We keep trying but he just ends up eating the tape and biting our hands.” Yord explained. “He’s like an annoying doll that’s broken.”
“I can keep quiet under one condition.” Kyle spoke cockingly
“I’m not dignifying myself by talking to you.” Rafta hastily shut down his request.
“Aw man.” He played up his emotion. “Just so you know that we can all still work this out. We don’t need to resort to whatever you meant by ‘negotiations’ which could all be circumvented by just exchanging a few words with me.”
All of the animals rolled their eyes. Resta was up in front near her brother being held up in her net by a chimpanzee.
“I consider myself a fair man as well. And since no one wants to stop me I can break up the awkward silence by just rambling more. Like what do you even wan-Oh yeah to torture huma-fleshies, sorry. I guess that's the goal you want to put everything on the line for though I thought what you guys were building was pretty neat. Maybe you can bring that value to the world above, show everyone what you're made of. Ooo how come you didn’t try to strike an alliance with a human with high power up above and then stab them in the back. Since you guys do have control over the sewers you can leverage that as a talking point and then take over the city more easily by taking out the police force first then-”
Yord slammed the bag against the wall and dragged it along the side. Forcibly pushing his body into the slimy surface, forcing him to actually shut up or else he would get a mouth full of absolute grossness incarnated.
“Hey he can be stopped after all.” Aaron commented.
“Finally.” Rafta grumbled. “Resta are we close?”
“Just another left turn.” She spoke softly, coming up on the same fork in the road she ran into earlier.
Everybody shifted to the left. They all surveyed the entire area for any of the rats coming at them.
“When's the last time we ever got out of the camp boss?” The chimpanzee asked.
“Getting out here is a dangerous game.” Rafta responded. “You’d be a fool to face it out here alone. Which, hmmm, Resta?”
She didn’t respond, only curled up in a ball.
“Silent treatment once again.”
“Yeah so crazy that somebody who yelled at you and threatened to kill all of humans is not going to talk to you.” Kyle spoke up again.
“I thought you were finally done talking.” Yord complained.
He turned away from the wall so all of the grime wouldn’t get into his mouth.
“It’ll take much more than that to keep my stupid ass quiet.” He snarked, resting his head on his two arms. “You’ll have to kill me to get me to stop talking.”
“God I wish I could. Maybe rip out your entrails-” Aaron was drooling from his mouth.
“Don’t get yourself all worked up on him. He’s not worth it.” Yord tried meditating.
Kyle snickered a little to himself. His smile slightly faded as he darted over to Resta who didn’t look anywhere instead staying curled up in her ball. His face shifted into a more serious expression.
In his hand he clutched onto a shard of broken glass. When he was getting dragged along the wall there was some trash that stuck to it which cobbled up near him and he spotted it. Hiding it away into his palm, gripping it tight.
“Heh.” He went back to being himself. “You know, I came across this place the other day that looked sort of like a laboratory. The classic white walls, ceilings and all of that. With this scientist that had some extendo-arm type thing going on.”
The rest of the animals stopped directly in their tracks.
“And I saw people in tubes strapped up to machines. They were making them into horrific monsters to create the perfect human. I let them out of their capsules and worked together to bring the place down. It was a wild ride, I'll tell you that. That’s the type of stuff I’ve seen other people do. The evil they're capable of is far worse than what you’ve described. Rape, genocide, child abuse, wars that still wage to this day. Humans can be capable of all of that stuff. But why should we let all of those horrible acts muddy the truth of what good can be drawn out of us. Do you think that humans are truly born to be the evil monsters that you’ve prescribed to them?”
Rafta came up to him with his fangs popping out. “How do you-”
“There’s people out there on the streets.” Kyle interrupted. “People out there are still trying to do good. Why make them suffer for the sins of everybody that wronged you?”
“How do you know that!?” He got right up in his face.
He didn’t respond, only nudged his head in the direction of Resta. “I know everything about what happened to you. To make an ultimate life form or something like that, I’ve taken care of all of that business so you don’t need to worry about it.”
“How-Why-” He constantly stuttered over his words. “Why am I even believing the likes of you?”
“But how else would he know?” Yord asked. “He has to be telling the truth.”
“You took down the entire thing, you? You expect me to believe that. Dr. Potluck, did you kill him?”
"If you’re talking about the guy with the really long mustache then yeah.” Kyle responded. “Actually it wasn't really me but all of the other people he was experimenting on tore him apart. Funny story. I actually first met him in Kansas where he exploded me with a missile, and he told me he was able to clone himself. Actually if he was able to clone himself why did he need to kidnap peo-”
“Now you’re just speaking nonsense.”
“Everything around me has been nonsense! This is where you draw the line? The entirety of your existence is bizarre. You animals took control of the sewers with rats infesting everywhere without being fucking noticed, everything, everywhere, everyone around me has been insane!”
“How do people even tolerate you?”
“I’m surprised about that too. But I finally got you to actually speak to me.”
“Did you really spill everything to him?” He swiveled his head to look at Resta.
She perked her head up. “Y-Yeah.” She whimpered.
“Holy fuck.” He rolled his eyes. “Shame I can’t fucking kill you.”
“Well she didn’t tell me everything about you.” Kyle interjected. “Which to be honest I think I’ve gathered the basic jest.”
“You’re not figuring me out so whatever mind game you’re playing you can drop it immediately.”
“Oh there’s no games with me here. I’m telling you straight forward. You haven’t answered my questions though. Do you think that humans are born to be outright evil no matter what?”
“No. They’re only taught that they’re above everyone else.”
“Well there’s people up above that love animals. Like how do you think I’m even here in the first place.”
“Mhmm. I’m sure you’re totally different from anyone else. You sicken me.”
“Oh yeah, says the man who ranted about killing humans in front of their families. Yeah I’m the sick one here, unless the sewer fumes are entering your brain or your that full of yourself then wake the fuck up. You’re a barbarous cold-blooded freak!”
“I will not be talked down to by any fleshie!” He lunged at him, getting stopped by the rope of the net. “I wanna see the look on your face when I release the hell above and tear the city down to ruin! Where we can finally escape instead of staying here like all of her other friends!”
“I want to leave too!” Resta shouted. Everyone turned to her. “Everyone there does! Do you think we wanted to live in a rotten camp? Of course not!? But we don’t want to kill people to achieve that. That’s the difference between us!”
“I need all of you to shut the fuck up!” Rafta screamed. “I’m done with all of this arguing.”
“Once someone speaks up to you then you want everyone to stop talking.” Kyle added a snarky comment.
“If any one of you speaks another word I’ll fucking kill her!” Rafta announced.
Resta gave out a huge gasp and some of the others looked rather concerned. Kyle’s face morphed into a more worried expression.
Rafta gave off a cheeky smile before continuing to walk on. With everyone in complete silence with the sounds of mushy steps into the grimey ground. Leaving nothing to talk about only drowning in their thoughts.

A man started signing papers at his desk. He was suited up with a nice red tie, high class shoes, and sporting a glistening watch. His short brown hair was combed and his green eyes scanned through the pages he was reading.
“Mr. President, you have a visitor coming to your office.” A little speaker on his desk spoke.
He rolled his eyes and reached his hand out to press a red button on the speaker. “Thank you Shannon.” After he responded he stood up stretching out his limbs. “Here he comes again.”
The door opened to his left. A hulking seven foot tall man let himself into the office. He had the darkest business suit that if you were trying to spot it in a pitch black room it’ll be impossible. He had the same color undershirt with the pants to match. The shoes looked freshly polished with them reflecting the light coming from the ceiling.
The man’s face was plastered with scars from a severe burning. He had matching green eyes but his hair was long and black. It drooped down to his shoulders masking some of his features.
“You know you don’t have to be anonymous every time you come to see me.” The president said, turning to face him.
“Why? You hate a little fun?” The man closed the door behind him. He had a deep grumbly voice that rumbled his throat like a bass.
“What’re you even here for anyways?” They both walked together to look out the window of the Oval Office.
“Heard about the huge sinkhole in Texas?” He flicked his finger as he asked.
“Been reminded of it all day.”
“My whole facility collapsed.“
“Yes. We’re upping the budgets already. Can’t have any critical failures like that happen ever again.”
“The budgets aren’t the problem.”
“What? Is there something I wasn’t told of?”
“We’re dealing with a force that we’ve never dealt with before. Footage of the attack was finally recovered today.”
“Attack? I was told it was a critical failure in the respiratory systems down there.”
“Look.” The man took out a tablet that already had the security footage loaded up. The president leaned in to look at it. On the screen it was a blurry scene of the cafeteria being torn apart.
The video showed the two culprits with one of them wielding a bat. The pair were killing the guards left and right. They were wrecking up the entire thing with a grenade and a singular baseball bat.
“Holy shit.” The president was in complete jaw dropping awe at the video. “Why did no one mention this to me before?”
“I got word of it today from Dr. Pollock about the whole incident.” The man put the tablet away.
“Did we catch them?”
“Only briefly to get some profile before they breached containment. We’ve got the basic information along with some DNA samples. One of them is named Gregory Titlton. Known as the batter, leveled half a city a week ago.”
“That guy, how the hell did he find out about us.”
“The diner was found shot up and destroyed, however he gained knowledge of our facility he was able to force himself in. For some reason none of our alarms or systems ticked off. So I guess we do need those raised budgets.”
“We may also need to question some of our employees. We can’t have information leak like that too easily.”
“Already one step ahead of you. Now, I would’ve already dealt with this privately if it wasn’t for something…Peculiar.” He finished the sentence after taking a long drawn out breath. He maneuvered around the tablet to pull up another piece of security footage.
It was of Kyle falling all the way to the ground, hitting it at insane race car speeds without a singular scratch or bruise from the impact. The president gawked at the screen.
“How in the fuck?” He was truly puzzled. “I see we have an even bigger problem at hand.”
“Exactly.” He tucked the tablet away once again. “Now from the scan we got of his genetics, it’s extremely unnatural. It seems more like a chemical than anything ordinary. His identification came up as Kyle Kyldrip. A missing teen from California who’s been on the run for about two years.”
“Extremely odd. The genetics sound like the part you’re here for.”
“Oh brother, you couldn’t be more right. It’s a compound I’m all too familiar with. Remember dad’s project.”
His eyebrows peaked up. “All too well.” He started to adjust his tie.
“It’s the same exact one he worked his entire life on. It’s spread out through his whole nervous system to numb the pain nerves, it’s impenetrable from anything due to its shell, and all blunt force bounces off due to its rubbery surface, his insides built with insane immune system boosters to resist any poisons, his stomach built to sustain itself to deter from dehydration and hunger. All of those factors match the exact outcomes he was searching for. I may have found-”
“Enough!” He stopped his rambling. “We’re not running through this whole situation again. Last time we just killed an innocent man because you had a hunch.”
“This isn’t just a hunch anymore. This is hard core concrete evidence. I have all the information to prove it, the endless amount of documents I looked through on my ride here will make your mind melt. This has kept me up for a full day. So I want an enormous manhunt for this kid and I want him alive.”
The president just sighed as he rubbed his forehead. Coughing a little before he opened his mouth to speak. “I’m afraid after last time I cannot put a notice out like that ever again. The whole press and media circus around the whole fiasco was too much of a hit to my reputation. I can’t take another risk like that.”
“It’s your second term anyways. Your reputation is such a meaningless factor in this whole equation. We have dad’s perfect creation right here in our grasp.”
“All of his work blew up! There was not a single scrape of it left in the debris. I’m sure you just have your results mixed up with a different person or-”
“I know what I have here. I have the breakthrough of our entire life, our legacy, our bloodline, the entire world. We created the perfect being.”
“It’s not him. You’re losing your cool again. Let me remind you that my reputation is the reason you can do all of this shit in the first place. If it wasn’t for me then you’re stranded with nothing but incomprehensible thoughts. I can’t sink hundreds of millions into your project for this long without it.”
The man gripped his hands together and smashed them right through the sturdy wooden desk. A whole bunch of documents went flying and pieces of it fell to the ground scattered everywhere with a ton of dust spewing into the air.
“Hey!” He spoke out before he was grabbed directly on the neck. He was pressed right against the glass with his throat being almost crushed by his pulverizing grip. He lifted him high, struggling to breathe trying to kick at his face to defend himself.
“Listen here you pest, you think just because you have a higher position of me you can boss me the fuck around. I’ll give you a GENTLE reminder. You’re an absolute insect underneath my boot, if you think that you can threaten to take away my project after hundreds of years of hard work just for you to spit in my face then you’ll be six feet under. You think anyone else that takes your position after you're gone will pass up a prospect such as super soldiers then you’re more dense than I’ve ever thought.”
He let go of his chokehold and dropped the president straight to the ground gasping for air with a huge red mark around his neck. He was face flat on the ground with a pool of drool forming.
“If you don’t want to put a public announcement out, that's acceptable.” He dusted off his suit. “At least inform local law enforcement in Texas to search for Kyle Kyldrip and Gregory Tilton. Shoot to kill for the batter, take alive Kyle. Do I make myself clear?”
He couldn't bring himself to squeak out another word, only gave him a thumbs up before lifting his face off the ground.
He gave off a cheeky smile. “Good. Looks like our business is done here for today. I’ll see you in the next week or so. And I am expecting that budget increase soon. Have a wonderful rest of your day. Brother.” He collected himself together before lightly trotting out of the room with a stride.
Going out the door there were multiple secret service agents pointing guns at him. He calmly waved them off before continuing on his way. All of them cautiously observed him until he disappeared.
A medical team came rushing in to treat the president. The agents already were getting the desk all cleaned up as he was being taken care of on a stretcher that was being strolled out of the room.
The man walked out of the white house, jaunting all the way down to a black limousine. He opened the door and got onto the comfortable smooth leather seats, giving a signal to the driver before taking off.
He pulled out his tablet, looking at the security footage of Kyle surviving an impossible fall on loop. His fingers gripping tight on the ends of it, the grasp getting tighter and tighter before cracking the screen. His hands started shaking until the whole thing shattered.
He gave off a low grumble as he started furiously scratching his hair. Scrunching up into a little ball as the sun set down cruising along in Washington D.C. traffic.
