although there are a lot of factors and certainly quite a few I'm going to forget in this analysis this is some of the reasons why. Just remember im not an expert and most of the stuff I'm saying is a reiteration of other ppl online/the news and they can be just as stupid as I am

Probably the biggest issue is not only the aftermath of COVID-19 and the Russia-ukraine war. During COVID, millions more people were forced back into poverty and extreme hunger. And many countries will experience some sort of instability due to the lack of food/grain coming for Russia and Ukraine. This includes the middle east which, due to its climate, can't produce enough food on its own to feed its big population. Because of that they would get their food from Russia and Ukraine(the two biggest and closest grain exporters in that region) but now with the war they can't get it. Countries like sri lanka and Iran have also been in protest(with sri lanka getting a regime change) due to inefficiant governments. In Iran's case they are suppressing the people. Although I support the Iranian cause it cannot be denied that hundreds of protesters have been killed and thousands are now in prison. Since the protests aren't organized country-wide and if they never do then they will never be able to crush the regime. And countries in Europe are facing lots of trouble due to lack of cheap gas from russia and because of that are having high inflation. It will be tricky for them in the coming winter, although some suspect it will be good for them in the long run to stop getting resources from russia. Additionally, China's 0 COVID policies have made the country a mess and has stopped its full industrial capacity and output. Because of this the global supply chain is utterly disrupted and China is starting to face a lot of instability and protest against the Communist party. But considering the party's grip on control in the state there is a very small chance that they would be overthrown. And IF China invades Taiwan WW3 will either start or will be very close to happening. Additionally, Pakistan is in a huge amount of issues since one third of its country is underwater. Millions have become climate refugees because of this. Countries in central asia are having trouble finding reliable water sources and are becoming more hostile towards one another since they need water in order to sustain any agricultural economy that they have and their peoples. But the US, despite not looking as bad as some cases, is already in a pickle. They too suffer from high inflation(even if its not as bad as europe's or the UK's) and also, to some extent, political polarization. I would expect this to get worse coming around the actual 2024 presidential election once political party candidates are chosen for the two sides. Lots of mainstream media is split in two, each despising each other. This is mainly manifested in 'woke' culture and then 'conservative' culture, which are suppost to be direct opposites and directly opposed to each other. Every person on one side or another will start to look at things as simple as movies from their angle and accuse a movie of either being too woke or too conservative(I use conservative as an encompassing phrase. It could have 'toxic masculinity' or some element of 'racism') Now, obviously, this isn't everywhere. Most people aren't going to obsess over politics or the modern day culture when reviewing a movie. Its downright stupid. But for those who do listen to these groups of people, they will be changed by it and have their opinions changed on a movie based on politics. Of course these youtubers or whoever on the internet will try to hide it and justify it by saying its not about politics but just how 'normal people' think but ultimately that is all a distraction and they are doing this very much based on political reasons. 130Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡ756pOsmAvG

Anyway a few more factors I could see going into play: Gen Z's depression/mental health problems. This has probably a lot to do with how much techknoledgy they go on and (to some extent) the awareness they have of these issues and the ability to recognize their mental health challenges within themselves. In the 1950s everyone tried to ignore mental health since they thought that it was mainly physical health that was more important. This combined with Gen Z's close ties to tech will probably change many things in the future, like how they spend or live. The demographic crisis in the developed countries(like Japan) will likely cause lots of decline in those countries. Now, I don't know when these crises will happen, but they will happen soon, even if they don't happen in this decade. If those countries are able to find stability and have a lot of immigration of younger people at the same time, then they will maybe be able to survive. Or robots doing most manual labor/cheap jobs could also help fix part of the issues that would come with a lack of young people to do manual labor. Climate change will cause only chaos and more refugees and instability if we don't do anything to combat it now. Finally, technowledgy: it is unknown how it will effect us in the coming future. AI will likely surpass human levels in this decade(according to elon musk) but we don't know how that will effect US. Now, look at 2010s: more cultural homogeneity(atleast in the first half), less impacts of climate change felt, and way more economic trading and stability. Globalization was a major part of that decade as many countries traded with China more and more. There wasn't one major recession past the great recession(which ended relatively early on in the 2010s). Overall not an awful time. Now, even if we do manage to combat/minimalize all the problems that I mentioned above VERY SOON, we would still have to rebuild from all we lost. That'll take time, maybe even the whole rest of the decade. But please, don't be a downer about this. The world can get better, and it will. We shouldn't fear for the future, but walk into it with a goal in mind: how can we leave it better than last year?
