At war with society

Trying to keep up with the new trends and beauty standards 

Wanting to be like someone else

Knowing that's not you

If you don't keep up with the trends you're outdated and used 

Changing everything about yourself so you fit in

Just so genuinely confused 

Mental abused unamused and misused 

Fearing that you aren't worthy of love 

You fake your happiness 

Putting on fake smiles 

Like a glove on a hand 

They're all faking it too

So you'd think they'd understand 

But they act as if you're delusional 

It's has you wondering if you truly are

Two hopeless romantics come together as one

Aren't we all a little broken and damaged?

Some think they're broken beyond repair

Our pain is what makes us

As we all fight against depression

For some it's a constant battle

But it's just life

We live 

We learn

We try harder fighting and learning from our mistakes 

We're just two teenagers with shattered hearts 

The find happiness within each other

Slowly healing each other battered and bruised hearts 

Finding a home within each other 

As we fall deeply in love 

While they forget they were ever in pain
