The rain pelted the window, spraying it with water silently and wetly.
Renée stood by the window, watching the rain fall. She loved the way it purified the air and made the world seem new again.
Sonny, her boyfriend, sat on the couch behind her. He hated the rain. It made him feel cold and damp.
"I love the rain," Renée said. "It's so refreshing."
"I hate it," Sonny said. "It's cold and miserable."
Renée turned to face him. "Why do we always have to argue about the weather?" she asked.
"I don't know," Sonny said. "I guess we just have different preferences."
Renée sighed. "I wish we could just agree on something for once."
Sonny stood up and walked over to Renée. He put his arms around her and kissed her.
"I love you, Renée," he said. "Even if we don't always agree on everything."
Renée smiled. "I love you too, Sonny."
They stood together in the window, watching the rain fall. Even though they had different preferences, they loved each other. And that was all that mattered.
