Panic sets in as I struggle against his vice-like grasp, desperately gasping for precious breaths. "Listen up, princess," he growls, his voice dripping with menace, "I won't be fooled by your tricks anymore. It's high time you learned some respect, do you understand?" Slowly nodding, my tear-streaked face contorted with fear and submission, I silently acknowledge his authority. "Good," he states, releasing his constricting hold on my neck. Stepping back, he positions himself beside the bed, his domineering presence still lingering in the room.
Drawing in a deep breath to steady myself, I gradually sit up, my back firmly pressed against the unforgiving bedpost. My vision remains blurred, a result of the impact or my escalating emotions, I cannot discern. Though my surroundings are hazy, one thing remains clear: the man who holds me captive. Avoiding his gaze, I allow my eyes to rove around the room, desperately seeking solace in anything other than my tormentor.
Almost unexpectedly, he blurts out an apology, though the regret in his voice is palpable. His attempt to regain his icy composure is evident as he clears his throat, the tension between us thickening. "Tomorrow, there is a gala that my associates and family will be attending," he finally reveals, his voice slightly softer, tinged with a hint of vulnerability. "You will accompany me to this event as my plus one," he states firmly, his gaze focused on me. "You must act like my girlfriend, not someone I simply…" He trails off, unable to voice the truth that hangs heavily between us.
"Kidnapped?" I finish his sentence for him, my voice laden with bitterness and resignation. A heavy sigh escapes me, signaling my reluctant acceptance of my predicament. "Whatever you say, 'baby'," I scoff, the bitterness in my tone palpable. "My life is in your hands, after all." With those final words hanging in the air, he turns and exits the room, the door slamming shut behind him, leaving me to grapple with the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
