This town is cursed. I am convinced that it is. A girl named Cathrine Danielle Clark had gotten away with her murder of Tate Anderws. Of course I never said anything but I was at the bottom of the Tower the night that he died. It has been three weeks since the court case and she still hasn't shown up at school. Her desk was left empty, and the class was too quiet.
"Charlotte Raven."" Said my teacher.
The classroom stared at me like I was a monster because I knew Cathrine.
"Present." I said in a low tone so no one could hear me.
My teacher marked me here and I stared back down at the paper that I was doodling on.
I drew the rivers that would pass through the town, much like the one that flowed through where Cathrine lived along with clouds. I felt like a freak. I was friends with the Murderer of Tate Andrews? I couldn't keep this feeling deep down. The feeling of guilt stuck with me like it was growing on me. I was never asked by the police if I knew anything but I'd like to keep it that way. Police aren't the people that I would want to be involved with, including now that we are talking about murder. The teacher's phone rang and she went to answer her phone.
"Charlotte, the front office wants to see you." Said my teacher.
I got up and walked to the front office. My heart pounded slightly even though I knew I did nothing. I walked into the office to find the police along with a detective. My heart dropped.
"What is this?" I asked in a worried tone.
"You're a suspect of the Murder of Tate Andrews due to things that were found." Replied a officer while he put his hands in his front pockets
I look around me in confusion of what I've been told, why am I a suspect. Just because I knew her?
¨Okay? Why, though?¨ I ask in a questionable tone.
¨We´ve seen evidence that you and Catherine, or Kya you and others called her, had been in contact.¨ Says the officer.
I wanna run and hide. Instead, I roll my eyes. The officer noticed because he gave me a look, a look of just being disrespected. I didn't feel bad. My friend had been arrested for a murder everyone thinks she's committed, when she hasn't.
¨Okay, well I can assure you that we didn't talk about Tate, and i didnt even like the guy.¨ I reassured.
