SHORT SCENES - Dreaming life

Mia grabbed her brush off her night stand and pulled it through her hair replaying her day in her mind. A normal day it was work, cleaning and being a waiter in a house of people in high places. It was night time now and she had just changed into her night gown and was getting ready for bed. She pulled the brush through her dark hair once more and put it back were it designated place was. She braided her hair as she walked over to her dresser and tied a hair tie on the end. Taking a deep breath she looked at herself in the mirror as she tucked a strand behind her ear and thought to herself if only I sat in high places. Then she quickly thought don't be envious be content. She smiled and pulled the string to the lamp. She tipped toed over to her bed and snuggled under the covers and hummed the rest of the song under the covers and smiled to herself as she felt herself drift to sleep.

"One two three charge!" The men screamed as they ran besides their king into the face ofdeath. I could only imagine their families face when the found out that they would be dieing soon. And also found myself saying my last breath to my family because I was called too. It was dawn the day was lit by the sun that was left. The air felt gritty as it rushed into my face because of horses that I ran along beside. I stumbled and stared into lifeless eyes that looked at me as I ran. My gut flipped my insides wanting to release food but couldn't. Instead the raw taste of stomach acid burned my throat. My turn was coming the guy in front of me had a ripped shirt on that hung to his thighs. He's legs thundered with the rush of the horses.and he's spear that he gripped shined underneath the rust.Behind all the screaming he was doing I could see despair in his eyes he thought the same as me. He didn't want to kill me and I didn't want to kill him. As much as I didn't want to kill him it was do or die.

I couldn't bring myself to do it. My eyes widened as I was stunned by the spear in my stomach. I didn't expect him to really do it. My eyes locked on his as I feel to my knees. He felt sad but there was a hint of relief. Honestly, I could understand why.

I wasn't dead and I wasn't here either but before what ever was there to consume the rest of me hadn't came. I was in a room it was poorly lit. I soft beam of light lit a specific place in the room. It aloud my eyes to see the cream skin of a girl bundled in covers. I sat there wondering my purpose and a little voice said profess your love to her. I pushed it out because it couldn't have been true . Before my time I never loved a woman. Professing my love would be wrong. Instead I stepped closer until I could see the movement of her blankets as she slowly breathe. Leaning down I pushed her hair that escaped from her ponytail behind her ear and whispered "love will come to you. A guy who can make you feel like anything is possible. He should be gentle, caring, understanding. He should be calm in tense situation and make you feel loved no matter what."

I stepped back quickly. My movment awakened her and she turned around quickly her hair swinging over her face. Before she got a good look I felt myself leave the room.
