I rushed to my phone and called 911. When the police finally arrived at my house, I took a deep breath and explained everything that had just happened. I shook my head firmly, “No, I just want things to feel as normal as possible.” With that, she drove off into the night, leaving me alone in the eerie quiet of my house. Sticking to my plan, I made my way upstairs to my bedroom. Memories of Brendan flooded back to me like waves, and before long, tears filled my eyes.
