The worn wooden door opens into a waiting room of sorts . stone benches lined across a wall , A the other end is an open door , curtain blocking the view inside , and Eve walks in . One guard stays back while the rest leave . she shuts the door after Eve . Terez laughs "EXACTLY! " he stops leaning against the wall, "I was so sure I'd be privately executed with an unmarked grave and everything." he chuckles dryly .
Only a few minutes have gone by when the door opens up once more , Eve is nowhere to be seen. The guard glances between them, as if to asses their injuries before sending Terez in first.
The guard squints her eyes at Damion, "Ardonian" she sighs massaging her head. It takes a few attempts , but she eventually softens relaxing a little . "Look , You're the only other Ardonian here except for Eve . Just ...just keep your head down and stay away from Azure." Before Damion could ask any more, the door opens again, and he's sent in.
The infirmary is much better compared to the almost neglected waiting room. The raised ceiling brightened by floating orbs lie the one in the arena , smaller, and just similar to the sun enough to sustain a few hanging plants suspended below on the far walls . there are beds here . huge wooden cupboards and shelves packed with herbs and bottles , some thinly torn cloth sticking out of the closed draws indicate more supplies .
The place itself feels light and airy even with the lack of windows ,Definitely out of place when compared to what Damion had seen so far. From another door someone enters , loose pale cloak and linen sweeping the floor . It's the healer .He isn't short but the way he shrinks back makes him seem like he is , His short black curls shaped by the hood he had worn before is frizzed and uneven , olive tanned skin creasing slightly as he face blooms into a warm yet cautious smile .

"I can't say its nice to meet you ,Damion, but its good you're not too injured " He picks up some parchment papers and hands it over ."I imagine it must have been.... concerning waking up without your memories ,they should have returned by now .I'm sorry there isn't much I can do but this should have your records. To check if they have completely back.
Damion wordlessly takes it , there isn't much to remember anyway .The details of his service are precise. The description of his family is short , yet all the pain and anguish comes back at once threatening to spill . Damion steels himself as he skims through the rest . Petra coughs uneasy before continuing,
"I'd like to start your treatment now, Damion. It's already late as is ". Damion nods not trusting his voice at the moment, as he sets the report down and lets Petra do his thing , whatever it is .
Damion watches and the mage's hands glow a pale blue against his own. the blue seeps into his skin reversing all the grazes ,scrapes and aches he put aside and gained on his duel with Terez , as a cool tinge takes over . "If I'm getting healed up like this, Maybe this isn't so bad "he thinks , But as the cool magic grows pricking his skin slightly he realizes he may have said it out loud.
"No" the hands on his cheek grips noticeably tighter , "No! this is still bad . this isn't something to be relieved about." Petra's voice breaks, wide hazel eyes shining amber under the orange lights , "I'm not ... I.. this" he shakes his head as he steps back, distancing himself from the Ardonian before continuing, "There are some cloths for you. " he blurts out trying to end this conversation ."I'll give you some privacy." he mutters, leaving Damion to his lonesome .
The cloths are plain and functional , cotton, barely fitting. A polished brass mirror rests in the far left , the sleeves of the tunic cut to fit anyone while the pants are loose and wide legged, He clinches the leather belt given to hold everything together, even with the cold magic running through his body he looks exhausted and the cut on his cheek not completely healed. Damion waits for pale cloaked man to return, it doesn't take long .
Petra winces as he glances at the timepiece place disguised on a tall shelf, " I'm sorry you've missed dinner." he says, he handing the prisoner a package .it's warm, smells faintly of honey and oats, " Hide it in your belt ,There was an escape attempt a few days ago. Rations will be low for a few days." He explains.

"You shouldn't worry about me," Petra says softy ," I'm only need after the bouts, till then I rest ,eat and tidy up here. I'll be fine," he hesitates before adding," There aren't many like you - Ardonian I mean, Most are Valorian criminals or ex-military. I'm not political but-" . There's a sharp knock on the door before a different guard enters. He looks older , stone faced and frowning.
"You ready to go ?" he asks gruffly.
Damion follows quietly to the metal grid , The red cloaked mage waiting impatiently. The gate opens with a crackle and he is ushered through . The guard glances at him as the gates close while the mage sneers, "I'm sure Azure will make you feel more then welcome Ardonian "
And the path shuts off ....
