I woke up to another day that felt like any other,just the same dull, unchanging routine with nothing new or exciting on the horizon. The sky was dull, the kind of gray that made everything feel heavier. The air had that smell before rain, like a storm was supposed to come but changed its mind. The streets were quiet, too almost like the whole world had hit pause. I pulled my blanket tighter, but it didn't really help. It wasn't the cold that was getting to me. I dragged myself out of bed, wondering if today would be any different or just another repeat of yesterday's slow, heavy routine.
My name's Lucien.i'am 18 years old,an average IT student from an average family. We've always been pretty close, nothing dramatic,just the kind of steady, comfortable life you'd expect. And yet, here I am, feeling empty and tired, like the spark I once had as a cheerful kid has faded away. I never looked like someone drowning in misery,if you asked my family or old friends, they'd say I'm the guy who always had a joke ready and could turn any dull moment into a laugh. On the outside, nothing seems off at all. I'm not the type whose face screams depression or gloom. I mean, what happened? I don't even fully understand it myself, everything appears normal, but somehow something's just not right.
I stepped outside into the same familiar city: tall buildings, busy streets, and that old staircase leading to the university entrance. The walk to class was as ordinary as ever,with nothing that really caught my eye. Inside the university, things were pretty relaxed. Half the people were outside, smoking and chatting in their own little groups, while others were tucked away, either studying for an upcoming exam or just killing time. I only had one class, so I went there expecting to get it over with quickly. Sure enough, the class was as boring as I thought. I nearly dozed off when suddenly one of my classmates, completely out of it, lost his balance and his head hit the desk with a thump loud enough to wake the dead. The professor jumped, looked really mad for a moment, and almost kicked him out before bursting into laughter at the absurdity of it all...what a dumbass.
As the day wound down, I couldn't shake the thought that maybe I was missing a piece of who I used to be. Memories of a happier, energetic kid, and of a family that was once my rock, began to stir. I started wondering if the roots of all this emptiness might be found in those old ties, the little moments at home that I'd forgotten.
