My name is Berry, I am worker at pet Cafe. I love animals, that's why I really love my job. It's already 5 months since I work here. Everything seems great and perfect, the customer is nice, the colleague is friendly, and my boss is really kind. Today I work in the cafe as normal, I end my shift at 5 PM. I usually walk home and walk back to the cafe, because my place is not that far with the place I work. It's raining so I use my umbrella. While I was near at my house, not that far, I saw a box in the side of the street. I take a look at it. It's a 3 months old puppy. I quickly take the dog back to my place. It's a cold rainy day. Since I haven't had a dog cage, so I use a cardbox, putting a warm and soft fabric inside it and let the dog inside. I also prepare some warm water, since I don't have a milk for dog. Later I also research what kind of food a 3 months old puppy can eat. I ended up named her Toffee because of her color, even tho it's a female dog.
Now, it's already 7 years since I adopt Toffee. She is now a bit old. But she is still adorable and sweet. Everything was alright, until today, Toffee is sick. She has low appetite. I end up bring her to the vet for a checkup. Now we are in front of a vet. We are coming inside and sit for a queue until the doctor call Toffee's name. Meanwhile, I saw there are this 2 young lady, who is also queuing their dog, but the two of them debating with each other, where I can heard all of their conversation.
"Jesus Christ!! I already told you not to give him human milk!! Hundred times already!! Look what you've done now!!" Said Clair, Shea's cousin.
"Well, he insist on drinking it. I pour the milk to a glass, and the glass fall so the milk is everywhere on the floor, when I search for a mop, he already done drinking it. Oh but, thank God, it's a plastic glass." Said Shea.
"You should have cage him first!! Now look at him, he is stomachache and cannot eat anything even his favorite kibbles!!" Said Clair.
"Well not my fault tho. Your dog is too hungry all the times." Said Shea.
"Jeez. You are so irresponsible!" Said Clair.
Right after seeing the two of them debating, a nurse is coming to me, it's Toffee turn for a checkup. The two of us get inside the doctor rooms.
"Hello good afternoon Toffee!" Greet the doctor, happily. I don't even know who he is talking to, like, he is calling Toffee's name but his eyes looking at me.
"Oh look Toffee, the doctor greet you~" Said Berry. Toffees tail is wagging, and her face filled with happiness.
The nurse direct us to the checkup table. I put Toffee on that table.
"So, Mr. Berry, what happened to Toffee?" Ask the doctor.
"Oh, please, just call me Berry, Toffee is not doing well. She refuse to eat any food." Said Berry.
"Oh how many days that things already happen?" Ask the doctor.
"I think this is the second day she refuse to eat. I already give her anything, even her favorite treats, but she still insist on not eating it." Said Berry.
"Maybe she is hurt somewhere, let me check it first." Said the doctor.
He wear the stethoscope, and put it on the dog's body. Nothing is wrong, he take it out and check the dog arms and legs. When the doctor touch the front arms, Toffee suddenly become grumpy.
"Found it, when I touch her left arm her bones seem to be crooked." Said the doctor.
"Jesus, what should I do?? Can you make it straight again?" Ask Berry.
"Yeah. We will give him an operation to make her arm straight." Said the doctor.
"Can we do it tomorrow? I mean, the quicker the better.." Ask Berry.
"I still have other schedule tomorrow. But I will make sure the day after tomorrow I'm free to perform the surgery for Toffee." Said the doctor.
"So, what should I do now? Toffee doesn't want to eat..." Said Berry.
"I will recipe her a vitamins. Try to give her a boiled chicken without spices, then after that give the vitamin to her 3 times a day. Give it after breakfast, lunch and dinner." Said the doctor.
"Alright. Thankyou, I will come back the day after tomorrow." Said Berry.
Berry and Toffee leave the doctor room. Waiting for the recipe vitamins and after that he brings Toffee home again. Toffee, a miniature Schnauzer, is now only sleeping on the sofa. He has to take 2 days off, to take care of Toffee. So in that 2 days, Berry keep buying a chicken and boiled it for Toffee until his next visit to the vet.
