Each of A-Tuo's steps became heavy and arduous. He knew clearly that once he stepped into the heart of the Feather Kingdom, there might be no turning back, and this battle against fate would have no retreat.
"Linna, is this path truly the only choice?" A-Tuo couldn't help but look back at her. He could feel the heavy burden of the feather, not just physically, but also the mental torment it brought.
Linna's gaze remained firm, yet tinged with pain. "It's the only way, A-Tuo. Only by entering the center of the Feather Kingdom and uncovering the true secrets can you break free from all of this. Otherwise, you will be forever controlled by it, until death."
Before her words even finished, A-Tuo suddenly felt a sharp, intense pain from the feather on his back, as if countless sharp needles were piercing his bone marrow. The pain was almost unbearable, cold sweat seeping from his forehead, and his vision blurred.
"No!" He shook his head violently, desperately trying to shake off the stinging pain, but the feather remained firmly fixed on his back, as if deeply bound to his soul.
Suddenly, a chilling voice echoed—
"You can't escape, A-Tuo."
He whirled around and saw Chu Yao's figure. This time she stood much closer, carrying a suffocating aura. Her eyes were cold, and a wicked smile curled at the corner of her lips.
"Do you think these attempts to flee can escape the judgment of the Feather Kingdom?" Chu Yao's tone was icy. "You want to resist, yet you don't know that you have already entered a deeper maze."
A-Tuo's heart skipped a beat, and a terrifying thought instantly flooded his mind. He froze, a chill running down his spine. Could all his efforts have been destined to fail?
"You..." A-Tuo could hardly believe what he was seeing.
Chu Yao lowered her head slightly, gently stroking the feather on his back. "This is beyond your control. The Feather Kingdom has already locked onto you. You can no longer escape. Each feather represents your fate, destined for you to be devoured by this realm."
"No!" A-Tuo growled softly, a flicker of determination in his eyes. He was no longer the confused ordinary college student; he possessed an unwavering belief. "I will not yield! I will not let them decide my fate!"
Chu Yao's smile grew colder. She took a step closer, and a black feather slowly materialized in her hand. "Then come, A-Tuo. Let me see how long you can last."
As her words fell, a violent storm suddenly erupted, the surrounding space instantly twisting, and countless black feathers began to appear, surrounding A-Tuo and Linna.
"This is... the power of the Feather Kingdom?" A-Tuo's pupils constricted sharply. He felt the entire space collapsing, these feathers seeming to carry some invisible force, binding him tightly.
Linna suddenly shouted, "Run! This is the Feather Kingdom's strongest power! It won't let you leave easily!"
However, A-Tuo's steps suddenly halted. He felt the feather on his back twitch violently, as if devouring his very being. That inescapable restraint gripped him like steel; he could no longer flee.
"No! I can't be bound!" A-Tuo used all his strength to try and shake off the feather, but it remained firmly fixed on his back, tightening with every pull.
With violent struggling, A-Tuo's body trembled intensely, and a piercing, sharp sound rang out. Suddenly, a figure appeared in his vision.
"This is..." He looked back, and before him stood a woman he had never seen before, wearing a black cloak, her face mysterious and cold.
She said nothing, but silently reached out and pulled A-Tuo away from the feather's binding. Her power seemed to carry an unspeakable threat, instantly freeing A-Tuo.
"Who are you?" A-Tuo looked at her in surprise, his heart pounding.
She smiled coldly, her tone indifferent. "I have come to take you to a deeper place, to uncover the truth of the Feather Kingdom."
