After both: long journey that emerged from Epsilon station and a sweet, unexpected friendship that was born from a survival case, a vehicle landed, one like no other in form or mission. Its appearance was truly strange, as if it were a dream layered upon a dream. As for its mission, it was unlike most taxis that simply transport passengers back and forth. Rather, it was a professional modification that transformed the ordinary yellow car into something resembling a ship, fully equipped for exploration and the search for the unknown.
Of course, before all this, Rye had bid farewell to his loved ones, entrusting them to the darkness of his impending absence. Little did he knew he whould later meet another soul to change spirits with.
The truth is, none of them had approved of his departure. But his stubbornness paid no heed to their pleases that he stay away from the dangers of adventure.
"How could I resist throwing myself into the fiercest of undertakings when I had already spent the past twenty years hunting beasts, resisting wars, and diving into the depths of oceans and volcanoes?" That's the Phantom reply that lived rent free inside his head. All of his memories, without a doubt, shared a single bond: invention.
In every endeavor he undertook, he had to innovate to ease his journey. Creativity was an inseparable companion in all he did.
His steps began to grow, slowly but steadily. He advanced... and how sweet was that progress! The woman he met decided to play Ghost by just staying in the vehicle while stabbing the explorer with sharp eyes as he walks straight to the destination of science.
To abandon stillness was, essencially, a source of joy and excitement for him!
He continued advancing until he reached the center.
There, his weary feet stopped, and it was time for his mind and eyes to take over.
From a distance, unfamiliar materials emerged, floating and drifting as if they refused to recognize the law of gravity that governed this planet.
He did not move an inch, maintaining complete silence, paired with sharp focus.
These materials floated before him. He didn’t care much about what they were or where they came from; instead, his thoughts focused on one thing: How were they floating?
Yet, in those brief moments of observation, he changed his mind. He decided to explore the materials first, for their floating could very well be one of their natural properties!
And how great was his astonishment and joy at what he discovered! These floating substances were, in fact, antimatter particles! The planet’s ground was ejecting them upward, like a volcano spewing its flames!
Before him lay a treasure beyond any valuation. There was no better step than to gather it into a sack and head back to Earth.
So he did just that. And once he had filled his bags with the precious antimatter, an internal urge: his explorer's conscience, pushed him to study the treasure and its origin.
And once again, he was astonished: the very ground of the planet was a natural producer of this substance!
“Our Earth grows trees and draws them toward it. But this planet grows antimatter in its core like a factory!” he thought. And truly, his thinking was sound.
The planet’s soil acted like a laboratory, naturally forming antimatter.
The explorer burst with joy at having acquired two treasures: priceless knowledge and a rare substance. He was grateful to himself for prioritizing conscience over desire.
Far in the distance, his vehicle awaited his return...
He retraced his steps, triumphant, all while thinking of the teacher. that realization that dawns upon a person after experiencing something firsthand.
The teacher lies within every challenge and every activity, whether it be a broken device or a treasure waiting to be claimed.
Upon reaching the halfway point, he wished to rest. He sat beneath the shade of a rock.
After a good rest, he contacted his family, bringing them the joyful news.
Happiness and peace were the only witnesses to his journey so far, a journey unmarred by any misfortune.
However... an enemy lurked near, watching him as he wandered, lost in thought, an enemy the explorer failed to notice, despite its close proximity.
It was his ignorance of what he carried, and his false assumption of fully understanding his treasure, that caused him to soar several miles and crash into his long-missed vehicle.
He rose in pain, muttering:
"Gamma radiation triggered by the reaction between the antimatter and the fabric of my shirt! How could I overlook something so simple like this?"
Then he smiled brightly and declared with enthusiasm:
"But today, I have learned from teachers who did not appear when I battled beasts or soared the skies. I now possess a valuable treasure of knowledge. and I shall share it with the good-hearted as we unite to realize our hopes!"
The explorer’s collapse onto his vehicle had pushed him to reconsider his plans of hoarding the treasure.
And now, he departs the planet’s surface aboard his ship—empty of all but the hum of the engines and a memory of a ghost that faded away in a pure representation of betrayal.
