I hate the mask I wear.

I hate the mask I wear,

Everyday I smile,

Everyday I laugh.

But it’s always hollow.

Pain bundled in my eyes,

Along with an emptiness.

An emptiness that’s somehow more than everything.

I hate the I’m okay’s.

I hate the I’m fine’s.

I hate the I’m good’s.

This is what makes up my mask daily.

I’m never hungry,

But I eat.

I’m never happy,

But I’m also not sad.

I’m not alive,

But I’m not dead.

This world isn’t kind,

But it’s also not completely cruel.

My heart may have been broken,

Broken more than once,

But I’m not shattered.

But nobody really cares.

I hate the mask I wear everyday.
