"It's been 5 years since the disappearance of Joseph Williams. A man who worked for the government agency T.S.I but never came home," I read to James over the phone.
"And it says this all happened out there where you live?" James asked.
"Yeah," I said.
I had decided to start doing research and came upon an article of Joseph Williams online. I had called James to see what he thought about it.
"The fact that it's where our parents work. That concerns me," James said.
Our parents working at the T.S.I was another factor into why I wanted to know what actually happened to this guy.
"Yeah I know," I said. "The internet said there is a T.S.I facility in California, one here in Desertville, one in Ohio, and an island, but it didn't state where the island is located."
"Okay. Could this mean our parents are murderers?" James asked me.
"James just because they work at the T.S.I, does not make them murderers."
"Right," James said.
"But I'm not going to say that I haven't thought about my parents possibly being murderers or assassins. I wish there was a way for me to sneak into that place to find out what our parents are really up to?"
"Alright. Alright. If you go. I want to go. When you come to visit me for summer break we can sneak into the T.S.I. building near my house. It's going to be dangerous though. We have to make a plan," James said.
"Yeah I know," I said.
I scrolled down the page since I was done reading the short paragraph about Joseph Williams biography. Below was a picture of Joseph Williams with Marley, Naomi and their mother. Joseph was dressed in a white collared shirt. He was holding a tiny girl in arms. It was Marley when she was about 5 years old. The other girl, which I could tell was Naomi, stood in front of their mother. Both girls were dressed in the same black and white striped dress with sunflowers on it.
His wife, I could tell was mixed with black and white. She had long, dark brown, curly hair and was wearing a plain yellow dress. She was smiling and embracing her husband in one arm and her daughter in front of her in the other arm. At the bottom of the picture was a sentence stating everyone's name. I continued to scroll down past the picture and there was another paragraph.
I continued to read the article to James, "After Joseph Williams disappeared, his wife Audrey Williams was questioned," I read aloud. "She had last seen him when they were eating dinner with their two daughters, Marley and Naomi. She said they had spaghetti with garlic bread and salad. For dessert they ate blueberry pie. After dinner, Joseph had told his wife that he needed to step out for a minute and that he would be back. Audrey had stated that he never returned. A few months after his disappearance, Audrey was last heard to be admitted into a psychiatric hospital. Their two daughters, Marley and Naomi, were given to a family member to be taken care of. More information will be shared as it is discovered," I leaned back in my chair in awe.
"Dude, that's crazy," James said. "There are a lot of holes in that story. Like what time did he leave or why did he have to step out at all? There had to be some reason."
"That's what I was thinking," I said.
"Alright, I have to get to school, I'll try to do some more research on this when I get back home."
"Thanks, later."
"Later."
After I hung up the phone, I scrolled back to the picture of Joseph William's family. I knew finding him wasn't going to be easy. What happened to Joseph Williams? Was he kidnapped? Did he try to expose secrets of the T.S.I and that's why he had disappeared? I thought.
So many possibilities but no clues as of yet.
