The Amalgamation roared one final time as it raised its staff. Cynthia blasted herself up with the Illumina before striking down at the Amalgamation which seemed to be regenerating its power back with the Ghostwalker. Using its staff, it attempted to bat Cynthia away, but Thomas grabbed his pistol and shot into the staff, confusing the beast.
The Illumina struck into the right shoulder of the Amalgamation, severing the grip of the Ghostwalker, throwing it back in pain.
“GRAB IT!” Thomas shouted. “BEFORE IT PICKS IT BACK UP!”
The Amalgamation threw a chain straight towards Thomas, whipping him across the Arena. Noticing Cynthia running towards the Ghostwalker, it retracted the chain and slammed it against Cynthia’s back.
“Agh! Bastard!”
It approached Cynthia, as if it was going to show her… those things again.
Those visions.
She quickly scrambled away, towards the dropped Ghostwalker and pushed herself up. Grabbing the Illumina, she attempted to slash multiple times before lunging into the beast. It roared in pain as she pulled out the weapon, and began to pace towards the Ghostwalker one final time. The Amalgamation followed.
Cynthia backflipped and kicked the Amalgamation’s face, stunning it and allowing her to regain the Ghostwalker.
Rather than punching into Cynthia, its hand grew larger before slamming extremely hard into the ground below them. Everything went to silence. Everyone… everything… stood perfectly still. Not even the sound of Thomas’ annoying voice, the sounds of bridges creaking, the sounds of the crackling fire. Utter silence. Zhen looked shocked as she knew what was about to happen.

The platform began to cave in as the Amalgamation jumped into what seemed to be a bottomless pit.

Landing on a large, slightly soft mat, Kai glanced upwards. He felt like he fell over 50 metres beneath the floor of the Arena. A red light flickered on his face as he noticed The Clock just ahead of him.
Cynthia and Thomas fell at the same time, Cynthia floating herself down with the Illumina while Thomas quickly belly-flopped on the mat.
“Wait! Where’s the Amalgamation?” Zhen immediately stood back up.
To the left of them, a small hole was torn through the metal walls. It didn’t fit the Amalgamation’s immense size… not even a human size. Kai was the only one who didn’t look, still staring at the Clock. Zhen was struck with realisation.
“It’s already evolving..? How long has it been awakened?”
“How did it even-” Cynthia looked astounded.
“Oh, bless your heart, you know nothin’ about the Amalgamation do ya? How did you ever replace Zeph-”
“Why did you leave us?” Cynthia raised the Ghostwalker to Thomas’ chest.
