Kieran and Vienna watched Nox as he brushed his hair out of his eyes. His gaze swept across the windows, searching. When his gaze landed on one of the windows. One of the few without boards.
Nox leaned forward and picked up a broken piece of cobblestone.

“It’s the only way…” He whispered calmly, too calmly. As he slipped into the building, his feet touched the floor, he turned to the broken window, holding out his hand to Vienna. Helping her inside. Then, repeating the gesture with Kieran.
“You know, man, I could get in here myself.”
“I know. But I was worried you’d twist your ankle or something.”

Kieran just muttered something unintelligible under his breath, almost sounding like “Shut your mouth asshole.”. And Vienna only sighed.
“Okay, so where are we going first? Anything’s better than listening to you treat each other like kindergartners.”
“Since we’re here because of Watson, how about we look around the chemistry room?”
“Mhm…We have nothing left to lose anyway…Especially after we already broke in.”
Kieran looked him over, his smirk on his face.
“I think YOU broke in.”
“No, Kieran, we’re in this together. Now to the chemistry room.”
“Nox, wait…” Vienna grabbed the boy’s hand. “Promise me that if you find out the truth…You won’t forget you’re not alone…because you have me.” Her voice was trembling, her eyes wet with tears.
