Shaking, sobbing

power, it overtakes

helpless, but to submit

I lose control

its violent now

drowning

can't breathe

fear sets in

do you notice?

Can you hear?

Stay quiet

wait

I cling tightly

bed sheets, blankets

damp

from my tears

focus

comes and goes

will I pass out?

Emotions too strong

my heart

burning

will it burst?

Or stop?

Power, recedes

like the tide going out

licking at my skin

before fading away

slowly

I loosen my grip

deep breathing

my heart rate slows

finally, I sit

wipe my eyes

then stand

grabbing the bed

steady now, heading door

Wondering

Did you notice?

Did you hear?
