The mess was so big that you could not see the carpets and barely make out where couch and table stood. Mrs Hudson began to feel faint but quickly pulled herself together with the help of anger that began to burn deep within her. She took a deep breath to keep herself composed, knowing Holmes would win another argument or ignore her. Quickly she collected few papers together. Suddenly the doorbell rang. Quickly Mrs Hudson left the room, headed downstairs to the main door and opened it.

As Watson entered the room, "Holmes! What in God's name is going on here?" Realizing that Mrs Hudson meant with 'in his mess' literally and mildly put.

Watson looked around the room and then stared for a while at Holmes. Knowing Holmes never misplaces anything; especially what he bought himself. Is something bothering Holmes that have something to do with the shoes; the lost shoes? This is not the Holmes that Watson knew. Searching eagerly and angered for the shoes.
