The Kiss From An Old Friend Contest - Spin Party

Brittany and I are used to going to parties with alcohol and irresponsibility, but tonight for some reason she decided we're going to a party with some geeks. When I asked her why, she said it was because we wanted to make them feel worse about the parties they threw. Which honestly didn't make sense to me, but Brittany kissed me with her big, luscious lips. After that and I forgot to argue against it.

She probably had some prank she was gonna throw at them and honestly, I don't care how the night ends as long as it's with Brittany and those sweet hips. They swish so nicely as we enter Rebecca Walor's house. I have a feeling I'm drooling, but it's fine. I wipe my mouth just to be safe and when I look up the house is average sized not like the mansions we normally trash on a Friday night. I'd actually feel guilty drinking booze in here.

I don't see anybody in the house so far... This is kinda weird. Wait, what if there are no other dudes? Hell! How am I supposed to get through this?! I hear a voice shout, "We're in the basement!"

So, Brittany and I follow the voice and we find a room full of exactly 10 people. Two or three seem to be freshmen, but the rest seem to be either junior and senior. Brittany grabs my shoulder and says, "Rebecca, Rebecca, Rebecca... Quite the party."

What does she mean? I mean five of the guests are male, so one guy for every girl; yet, this isn't a party! There's no music, there's no vomit stains on the carpet, or drunk yelling, or any of that crap. Maybe she's patronizing Rebecca... Wait, which one's Rebecca?

"Well, either way, I'm glad you and Jed could make it," says a girl who, I guess, is Rebecca. She's got short, auburn hair that falls straight barely touching her shoulders. Her acne is managed, but still noticeable.

"What are we doing here?" I prod Brittany. As I check my social media, I notice there's a party going on at the Voviliers' and it looks sick.

"Well, the nerds, no offense, wanted help making their party more interesting. So I am doing charity work and teaching them a few things. You can go sit in the car if you're that put off," she says with a smile.

"No, it's fine," I grumble. She pulls out a bottle and for a second I think its booze. Sadly, it's empty and from sparkling cider.

"Spin the bottle." She instructs. The nerds gather in a circle and I recognize one of the girls. Helen Bolinski is a couple of people over, but it's her. She and I used to be next door neighbors and we used to have dozens of playdates while our parents sipped wine outside. How did she end up a geek?

Brittany begins by spinning the bottle, it lands on this freak with jet black hair that apparently has never seen a comb. He looks a little too excited to be kissing her and sure enough, a look southward tells me all I need to know. I do nothing despite my slight rage only because Brittany would dump me. She kisses the dweeb and the game continues. I don't pay attention because I can't stop looking at Helen.

Both her parents are alive and she's damn gorgeous, but I don't understand. What makes her a geek. She gets As and rides on horseback. She belongs to both classes, nerd and popular. I guess the thing that sets her apart is the fact that she doesn't go to our parties and she doesn't live in our neighborhood anymore.

Rebecca squeals and as I look down the bottle points at me. So, I lean forward and kiss the girl, but imagine it was Brittany. When Helen goes her bottle lands on another geek and I don't know why, but this upsets me. I think I wanted her bottle to land on me. Helen glances at me after the kiss and it holds meaning. Want? No. Love? Nope. Regret... What does she regret?

The bottle is spun as it goes around the circle and now it's my turn to spin. I don't know why, but as it's landing I'm holding my breath. Who am I holding it for? Finally, I think the bottle stops on Helen, but it moves one smidge to it's right and now it's pointing to a guy. He has a weird look on his face and we end up kissing on the lips. I did not enjoy it. Afterward, I wipe my mouth and head off to a bathroom to wash him off of me. I didn't know, but Helen followed me as I left.

I am gargling water when she grunts to get my attention. In surprise, I spit the water all over the mirror. She giggles a bit, yet she soon looks sorrowful again. "What?" I ask in as nice a manner as I can muster while cleaning Rebecca's mirror.

"Do you, um... remember? Third grade..." She trails off her words and her sentences are so light I wonder if she even said anything at all.

Yet, now I wrack my brain to remember what it is she wanted me to remember. Third grade... Third... Grade! I got it.

"I'm moving to a new school soon, so, uh, I have a... confession," Helen looks at me confused and scared. As her best friend she should never have a reason to be scared. So I take her hand determined that whatever it is will never touch her. Her face reddens at the gesture.

"What is it?" I brush a strand of her curly blonde hair out of her face and keep my hand steady on hers.

"I ... well," she gulps, "I like you."

"And I like you too so don't worry, we'll still be friends, silly!" I say ignorantly.

"No, I mean I 'like-like' you," her gaze intensifies then rests on our hands which are intertwined.

I jumped back as if she were on fire. I myself had the thought a few times, but no one ever admits it. It's like third-graders' code! "I, uh, need water!" I quick hugged her, then ran away in the opposite direction as fast as I could.

Not my proudest moment... I look up at Helen in confusion. She knows my girlfriend is in the other room. Besides, I really love Brittany.

"I've always thought you were cute, Jed. And I understand that there's a relationship between you and Brittany... But for my sanity and clarity of mind could you just kiss me?" She looks dead serious and again I feel like running away and screaming about needing to find water.

So, I do as Helen asked. I brush her hair from her cheeks and look into her eyes for a moment, then I go in. She's warm and sweet, her mouth tastes like fruit punch and before I know it our tongues are in each others' mouths. I pull her into the small bathroom and close the door behind me as gently as I can without pulling away from Helen and her fruity tongue.

Helen's fingers start dancing across my chest, but we gradually get rougher as she grabs for my hair and I search her boobs. I think I faintly hear a rapping on the door, but Helen tugs my neck and I'm sucked back in. I hear Brittany whining through the door and that's it, the mood is killed.

Kissing Helen was so wrong. I knew that, and I still did it. With Brittany not too far away at that! I want to disappear. Helen slinks around me and opens the door. She's greeted with the face of a steaming Brittany who will have my hide if I say a single word.

"What were you two doing together?!" Shouts Brittany hysterically.

"Remembering a secret between old friends." She brushes past Brittany and leaves the house. That leaves Brittany here to tear me apart.

Oddly, she does no such thing. Brittany with a defeated air holds up my keys and violently throws them at me. She leaves the house without another sentence and I half explain to the nerds that she's not feeling well. On the drive to her house, she's ominously quiet and I want to make her feel better; at the same time, I can't get Helen off my mind.

When we get to her house she drags herself from my car and when I try to follow her she finally says something, "The girls told me she had a crush on you. I wanted to teach her a lesson. Yet, instead, she taught me one that is so much more valuable. So Jed, delete my number, forget my address, forget my kisses, and forget our relationship.
