根據理論，曼陀羅圖形象徵內在療癒和整合的場所。基本的曼陀羅是由中心的小圓(或象徵符號)開始擴散，在最外圍有一個大圓，整個大圓所包含的區域即形成曼陀羅意象，中心的小圓在此代表自我，曼陀羅之內有城牆、道路、守護者、伴侶、資源等象徵圖案。每一個人都是自己曼陀羅的中心，不斷被人影響，也影響著他人。
