The room was large, but filled with cabinets and a large metal table in the middle with two chairs on either side. A single light swaying back and forth. A tired-looking man sat in the darkroom.
"Five more...Only five more and then I can go home..." The tired man rubs his glowing eyes with his hands. Eyeing the blank paper before him, the pen floating in the air patiently above the name line. "I can do this...I can go home after these students..."
The man let in a shaky breath of air, before calling out. The lone, brown door opened revealing a young male. His blue eye scanned the room causally, getting a feel for his surroundings. He gives a smirk, locking eye with the tired man,
"The room seems smaller than last year...Did you shrink it?" The man sighs, grabbing his glasses that laid peacefully on the metal table.
"No...I just added some filing cabinets...Anyway, please take a seat. I want to get this done and over with."
"Ha, I hear you Principal." The young man pulled the chair out, sitting down. He gave a yawn of boredom, already slouching. With a cough, the principal brought his hands together and spoke with authority.
"Welcome to this year's student evaluation. Please state your full name, age, power and why you chose to go to this school..."
"My name is Dagon Richardson. I'm 18 years old and my power is Storytelling..." The principal locked his glowing eyes with Dagon's lone eye, the pen scribbling frantically on the paper. "And what do you mean 'choose'? You know damn well that every kid with powers is forced to go here...I mean, we don't have a choice..." Dagon folded his arms and stared at the principal. His spikey black hair seemingly blended in with the darkroom.
With a sigh of annoyance, the principal pinched the bridge of his nose. The pen pressed into the paper, leaving a growing inkblot.
"Just answer the question Dagon..." Dagon's blue eye gives off a faint glowing pink hue.
"I already did, Principal." The pen strained against the table, before snapping. Ink instantly soaking into the paper. The principal let out quiet strings of curses, as he grabbed a cloth and began to dab at the ink. Dagon watched with a smirk, satisfied at what he caused. "Well, I guess that's all with the questions? Bye Principal."
Dagon stood up and made an effort to leave, only for the principal's annoyed voice to ring out.
"Why do you stay? You can use your power and leave..." Dagon looked at the door, his eye held pain and regret.
"Because...I want to harness my power, to control it. I don't want my greed to blind me...Plus, even though I was forced to go here, this is a good school..."
With that said, Dagon left the principals sight. He looked at the closed door, before using this opportunity to clean up the table and write Dagon's information on a new piece of paper.
"Alright...I'm ready now. NEXT!" Not a moment delayed, the next student walked in. He held himself high, his brown eyes locked with the principals. The teenager sat down and began to speak, already knowing what the Principal was going to say.
"My name is Roman Jacobs. I'm 19 years old and I-" The principal held up his hand, stopping Roman short. "Sir?"
"I have a different question for you Roman...Why...Why do you aim to try and become a hero?" Roman's eyes widen in slight surprise before they hardened.
"I need to become a hero to shove those demons back to hell! To protect everyone. I have the power, hell, I bet I'm stronger than their stupid 'king'."
The principal's glowing gaze narrowed at Roman's statement.
"You seem confident about that statement..."
"Of course, it's true. I can harness the powers of a fucking dragon!" The principal gives a chuckle, his eyes darkening despite the fact that they were glowing.
"Oh? So you mastered the soul of the dragon?" Roman stared before averting his gaze to the metal table,
"Well...No...Not exactly..." The principal leaned on his right hand, a grim smile made its way on his lips,
"So your previous statement was a lie...Roman, demons are vicious and will kill you without hesitation. It won't wait for you to try and grab the soul of the dragon..."
"Right...Sorry, Sir..." He waved his hand, dismissing Roman.
"It's fine...Just train. You'll get there...Oh, bring your cousin next, won't you?"
Roman got up and bowed.
"Of course Sir."
Roman left the room, calling out his cousin's name. The principal grabbed a new black paper, waiting to be filled with new information. It seemed like an eternity before the door opened, revealing a short, reserved boy. He wore an oversized sweater. His pants were black, and his shoes looked old and torn. Three scars ran along his right cheek to his jawline. 'My, my...'
"Hello. You must be Roman's cousin...Correct?" The boy gave a timid nod, playing with his sleeve out of nervousness. His multicolored eyes darting around the room. The principal lifted his eyebrow at the boy's stance. He reminded him of a baby deer surrounded by a pack of wolves...
"Why don't you take a seat and we can get started."
"A-alright.." He slowly walked to the chair, all the while avoiding eye contact. Once the boy sat down, his leg began to bounce. The principal narrowed his eyes slightly when he noticed something whisp by the boy's head...
"Alright then. This is your first year and we don't have anything on you, so it must mean you didn't go to the beginning ceremony. Correct?"
"R-right..."
"Well, I'll introduce myself before asking the questions. I'm Micheal. The principal of the school and teacher of demonology." The boy nodded again, shifting in his seat,
"Th-that's nice...I'm mean it's great, Cool! Sorry..." The boy stuttered in embarrassment, afraid that he offended the principal.
"Haha, thanks...Now, let's begin...What is your name, age, and power?" The boy started to bite his dry lips,
"My-my name is-My name is Matt Ruby...I, uh....I'm 15 years old...And my...my, uh...Well..." Matt breathed in deep, as he began to freak out. Fear filled his expression as if revealing his power was a horrible sin. Micheal smiles, warmth in his expression.
"It's alright to tell me, Matt. No need to be scared." Matt gulped in large amounts of air, nodding at the principal. Trying to calm his nerves.
"My, my power is to control or 'possess' ghost..." The principal widens his eyes in surprise.
"Wow...That's an amazing and strong ability Matt. How strong are you or whats your level at?" Matt's expression went from fear to nothing in a matter of seconds. All emotions seemed to leave his body.
"I...I'm still weak. I can't control a ghost or even possess them...I haven-I haven't been able to practice..."
"Hm...That's...Strange. Alright...Well, last question and you can head back out. Why do you aim or try to become a hero?" Matt, for the first time, locked eyes with the principal,
"I don't want to become a hero...Not at all..."
"Oh? Then why are you trying to become a hero..?"
"Well...I was forced to go here because I have power...But the only reason I'm actively trying to become a hero is I don't want to leave Roman...I don't want to be alone with-...I just don't want to be alone..."
"Hm...Alright...I guess it's an answer...Well, you can leave now Matt. Hope you enjoy it here at the academy."
"Yeah..."
Matt got up and nervously left the room, not before the principal saw the strange whisp trail behind Matt. It gave off a purple glow. 'Interesting...'
The teacher lost his thought when the door opened once more,
"Principal Micheal? May I come in? Or do you still need to prepare?" The principal blinked a couple of times before smiling at the next student. He wore beyond the fanciest clothes and jewels.
"Ah, Prince Ka'han. So nice for you to be able to join us this year. After what happened last year, I thought your father would surely kill me." He gave a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his next. Ka'han sat down, giving a warm smile.
"Don't worry Principal Micheal. I've convinced my father to not kill you." Micheal coughed and started at the young man,
"Wait. I was kind of joking when I said that..."
"I wasn't. You know the type of man my father is..."
"Haha...True...Well, let us begin. Can you say your full name, age and power please."
Ka'han gives a laugh, as he brought his hand up to brush his long hair behind his ear.
"Well, my name is Prince Ka'han Mi'tino. I'm 17 years old and my power is ancient arcane magic...Nothings change Principal Micheal. I still only have one power. I don't see why we must do this every year?"
Micheal smiled, shifting his glasses as he stared into the young prince's bright eyes.
"Well, as you know young prince. Your family is large and contains many different types of magic. They usually only inherit arcane magic...But, they've learned that children with heterochromia eyes have two or more powers..." Ka'han rolled his eyes in annoyance,
"Yes. I know. I've heard my father tell me that since I was 5. Just because I have two different colour eyes, doesn't mean I possess more than one ability. I mean my grandmother had two powers and she didn't even have heterochromia, so I don't see the point in the matter."
Micheal sigh, leaning forward and spoke with a soft voice, trying to reason with the boy.
"Ka'han. It's just-"
"Prince Ka'han." The boy snapped, angered with talking about the matter.
"Sorry...Prince Ka'han."
The boy stood up, his fist clenched to his side as he glared at the principal.
"I don't need two powers to rule my kingdom. My power is strong enough, I don't know how many times I need to tell you and my father." Ka'han's expression was filled with hurt. He turned away and left, leaving the principal's last question blank on the paper.
"Oh boy...I shouldn't have talked about that today...Shit..." He once again took his glasses off and buried his face into his hands. Tired and exhausted with dealing with students all day. He had one more and he had a feeling he knew exactly who it is...
In the span of 2 minutes, the door was rudely slammed opened and the mysterious student of them all walked in, his expression filled with excitement and mystery.
"Good evening Micheal! That was quite a conversation with.. Uh...Oh right! Ka'han, the princely dude. You could've gone a totally different route if you lie." The student gave a fit of laughter before he sat down, all laughter stopped as he stared intently at the principal with his cat-like eyes. His spikey brown hair gave a weird glow when the light above swung in his direction.
With a tired sigh, he glared up at his student,
"It's Principal Micheal, Je-"
"Yeah, yeah. Come on~ Ask me those lovely questions already! I've got places to go and futures to hate!" He gave a huge grin, revealing his unusual sharp teeth.
"Right...Right..." The principal turns around and files Ka'han's paper and grabs the last paper. Blank and ready to finally be filled. Setting things up, the principal closed his eyes. When he opened them, they weren't glowing anymore. The pen promptly fell and clattered on the metal table. "I can finish this without using my powers..."

"Yup! Well, my name is Jester Hall. I'm 17 years old and my powers are future sight and necromancy. I want to become a hero so I can walk right up to those damn demons and ask them a very important question." Micheal looks up at Jester with a curious gaze,
"And that question would be?" Jester laughs like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Well, obviously, I'd ask them why I'm a floating decapitated head. How I still feel pain and such in my body and head. How I'm basically normal, just with a gap in my neck." Jester points to his neck, before calmly running his hand right through. The principal nods his head slightly, confusion in his eyes.
"I thought it was due to your necromancy powers..." Jester shakes his head,
"Nope. I have nothing to do with it. Like, at all."
"Strange...Still, I doubt if you met a demon that they would talk with you. They would kill you on the spot. Worse, force you to use your powers for their own gain..."
Jester laughs and shakes his head, standing up.
"Come on Micheal...Don't gotta crush my dreams like that...I will become a hero and discover the reasons why I'm like this...We all will..." Jester waved his goodbye before leaving, shutting the door closed.
"...Principal Micheal...Whatever." Micheal stared at Jester's paper, before pulling out the last four students and stared at them. He felt this...This feeling in his gut. That they cant be heroes...They will just have to stay as students...Or...He could just be really hungry. He hasn't eaten anything but breakfast...
Looking at his watch, he gave a sigh.
"10:40...Damn...Well, either way." He grabbed a beautiful black wood stamp, branding all 5 student's papers with the red mark. "These students will not become heroes..."
