: the second brightest naked eye star in the constellation Gemini :) In classical mythology, Castor is the mortal twin of Pollux, the twin warriors whose stars are the brightest in the zodiacal constellation of Gemini.
In northern Spring evenings, the twin stars Castor and Pollux descend the northwestern sky like a pair of eyes looking down on the beautiful earth. Pollux is fathered by Zeus and is divine, while Castor is mortal, and they are both placed in the sky so that they can be together all the time :)
