When I look into

the mirror I see

the face of a child,

yet full of beauty.

She's been pushed past the limits,

she's broken inside,

'though she never will show it,

she often sat down and cried.

She's happy at times, 

but often overwhelmed,

and although she's alive,

she feels like she's been killed.

She does what she can,

to make her life better,

but almost all the time,

she feels life's out to get her.

I look in her eyes, 

she stares back at me,

then I realize the person

in the mirror is me.
