Angel Louise Samonte was just your average teenage girl, shy, timid, simple but very optimistic, serious at studies, and compassionate. She is a religious girl who devotes herself to serving God's purpose. It was no surprise since her little community was built up with churchgoers she had known for as long as she can remember. She was raised in a religious household by her loving parents with two adorable brothers to keep her company. She has a perfect family and is living in the perfect world. She has everything more than she could ask for.
Though she was just an average girl, she never tried to change herself. But it was worthy to say that she was a straight-A student since elementary school and now that she was about to enter high school, her main goal was to keep her grades high so as not to disappoint her parents.
Angel has black shoulder-length hair, fair skin, and a willowy body with her prime asset, her cat-shaped eyes. First look and you could have mistaken her for a snobbish person, though she was one of those kindhearted church girls you see nowadays. She dressed neatly; she disregarded dressing fancy. For her, just as long as she was dressed presentably, it was more than enough. It was a mystery why she was not materialistic at a very young age when an average teenager normally asked for a lot of things. Even when her parents own a department store where all new things arrive from time to time. It was the most popular store in the city.
When she was not busy at school or doing church activities, she was at the store and helping her parents. She needs to file stocks and do the inventory. Though they have enough staff she doesn't mind after all she wanted to see how their department store does well. Also to spy what the customer really wants to see and what they demand out of their merchandise. Though it was hard work, she enjoyed it. It was her motto; to enjoy everything she does and do it wholeheartedly.
She knows how much hard work her parents put into managing their business and for that she was very proud of them and she was the type who will accomplish even a small amount of work to lighten up the load. Her parents have no words to say how grateful they were for having a loving child, being the only daughter that was so helpful and so obedient. And for that. As a thank-you gift to her and also to carry out the responsibility to their only daughter, they enrolled her in the most prestigious all-girls school in the country, the St. Claire Academy.
And now she sat in a great hall among the crowd of girls who were bustling around here and there; squealing when they encountered familiar faces. Everything here is like a fairy tale come to life. She never dreamed of going here in the first place, but right now she was thankful her parents let her experience this magical thing. All she knew was this is an awesome, enchanted-looking, castle-like campus all girls were like princesses-in-training. But she can't help being intimidated by every single corner of this fabulous campus.
"Uhm, excuse me..."
She was pulled out of her reverie by the smooth voice she heard beside her. "Yes?"
"I was wondering, is anyone sitting next to you?"
She was an eloquent speaker. Angel was aware of a rich girl who speaks like this but only with those who were born from political parents.
"It is still available, you can sit next to me," she said and smiled sweetly.
The girl was taken aback by how warm this girl's attitude towards her was but beguiled to smile back. "Thank you."
Angel did a once over of the new girl: she was tall, about 5'7, with jet black hair so straight and long it flowed like a waterfall down to her slender hips and it looked good on her. She has an oval-shaped face and full lips, she looks glamorous from head to toe, the typical rich girl physique.
"Say, it was quite a busy morning, huh?" She tried to strike a conversation. Although she knew she would be shrugged off.
The girl rolled her eyes, "ugh, you bet." she said with an air of indifference, but after a while, she winked at her and gave her a dazzling smile.
She was surprised.
"Why the shock?" the beautiful girl inquired.
"You just surprised me. No offense, but a typical rich girl doesn't talk with other girls unless they're like them." I seem like an average girl...
"Well, I'm like you, aren't I?" she said with her gorgeous eyebrow lift a bit. " We're both humans who were stuck in this castle-like doom," she said jokingly and let out a dry laugh.
Angel was not used to this kind of behavior, it looks like this girl has a sad life. But she hoped that maybe someday she will hear her true laugh and not the dark secrets she hid behind those forced laughs.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Angel Samonte. I'm happy to meet you." And she offered her hand in a gesture of a handshake.
The pretty girl looked at her offered hand then back to her face before she took the other girl's hand and shook it faintly.
Angel realized how warm the girl's hands are and that warmth travels to her. She smiled to herself, this girl is kind.
"I'm Raeven Amano. It's my pleasure to meet you."
"So formal." Angel teased her.
From that day on, Angel never thought one fine day, the start of the school year, a friendship of no ordinary kind will blossom.
