Cheat Cleansing
Cleansing your kitchen is often seen as an absolute must. Whilst I agree that you should take the time to do this every once in a while, I don’t think a full-on cleanse is necessary every single time you step foot in the kitchen. For this reason, I decided to add in a “cheat kitchen cleanse” that I do before cooking, just to give the kitchen a better vibe that gets me in the right mind set and ready to make something delicious and magickal! You can use this cleanse as it is, adapt it to suit your own needs/correspondences or ignore it completely and create your own!
You Will Need:
- Spray bottle, ½ filled with cold water
- 10 drops of Lemon Oil
- 5 drops of Rosemary Oil
- 1tsp Salt
- Roll of kitchen towel, or cloth
Open your windows!
Mix the water, salt, and essential oils together in the spray bottle, then give it a shake.
Spritz the mixture over your kitchen counters and work areas, let it settle for a few seconds and then wipe away in an anti-clockwise motion. Once you have wiped away the gunk, dispose of the kitchen towel or chuck the cloth straight in the wash.
This is easy, effective and makes your magickal space smell amazing! Although, I don’t recommend licking your work counters (no matter how tempted you are)!
Washing The Dishes
This is a task that most people hate, yet believe it or not, it counts as cleansing your items! Physically washing away the dirt and grime means you are physically cleansing the plate, fork, or pot. You can add a short chant to this mundane ritual if you want to feel extra-witchy, such as:
“Scrub away meals enjoyed once before, cleanse again now so we can enjoy once more”
You can even simply move the sponge or cloth in an anti-clockwise motion to remove both the physical dirt and any left-over energy, then watch it swirl down the drain and out of your life!
