Franny, Julian and Kat walk along a rocky, overgrown forest path that is moist, having clearly rained recently.
They came to the end of a river ages ago, abandoned the canoes and life jackets, proceeding on foot.
"This isn't too scary so far." Kat speaks up, looking around them. "It's just a forest."
"Honestly, I'm relieved it's not a wasteland with zombies. Glad it's sunny out too." Franny responds laughing a little, clutching her head as it is pounding
"Wait, is that..." Julian trails off, seeing the forest turn into beach.
Sand, ocean, sea shells and colored small houses on stilts lining the beach, beach towels, people are playing on the sand and in the ocean.
Adults, teenagers and kids and behind the beach huts is a city, cars, and everything.
"How do you feel, Franny?" Julian asks, taking her hand while Kat walks ahead slightly.
"It's civilization? It seems functional. Guess we we are not the last country left or the only one to have existed.
Our authorientation government was indeed liars. What do we do now?"
"Ask for help. We are on someone else's land, another country and governments, but I'm sure if we ask nicely, they will help after they listen to out story. We never had beaches like this.
Our cities don't look anywhere near this modern."
And then there is a familiar girl up ahead, sitting on a beach towel, playing with the sand, she has a bucket and shovel and is building sandcastles.
She is wearing swimwear and her carrot hair has a few rainbow steaks, a sun hat is sitting snuggly on her head, her face and body covered in sunscreen, whoever applied it was overzealous.
"Kate?!" Julian and Franny cry together and she looks up, a big smile forming on her face and holds her arms out.
"Mum, Dad!"
And the window of one of the beach huts right behind her open, another female sticking her body half out.
"Sadie!" Kat cries, running up the window, standing on her tippy toes and they kiss instantly, the sun bouncing off both their half gold heart necklaces as Julian and Franny sink to their knees in the sand, hugging Kate close to their hearts.489Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡVR0pC9TbYt
