第九回：夏桀被逐

        桀率領殘兵渡河，逃入三朡國。商軍乘勝追擊，不但攻滅了三朡國，還奪去其「寶玉」（1）。《今本竹書紀年》說桀在焦門被擒，最終被流放於南巢。

        夏朝由禹至桀，大約有四百七十多年。

        桀被俘後、被流放之前，也許曾見湯。湯怒道：「夏后，你傷害官民，屢勸不改，天下皆怨！」桀說：「成王敗寇，我無話可說。」湯見桀白髮蒼蒼（2），不忍處死，便下令將桀流放至東南的南巢。

（2）假設桀在位共五十餘年，像《綱鑑易知錄．夏紀》所說：桀當了五十二年君主。
